Meanwhile, Falkenstein Castle is being renovated, which is driving the Count to his wits' end. Especially since Alex is planning to hold a music festival at Falkenstein and is determined to go through with it over his father's objections. And if all that was not enough, Tina gets kidnapped. Despite the complete chaos, one thing is clear - in the end, real change comes from everybody working and pulling together, not by magic.

In the life of TV presenter Lisa, everything revolves around her talk show, celebrities and the ratings. There is just as little room for love as there is for her mother Maria. When the 66-year-old loses her memory after a fall in her apartment and wakes up in the hospital, she can only remember that she has never been to New York and sets off immediately. Lisa goes in search of Maria with her makeup artist Fred. She struck gold on a cruise ship that was just leaving for New York. As stowaways, the three have no choice but to earn the passage. While Fred is hired as an assistant by the Greek on-board magician Costa, Lisa and Maria have to work in room service. The crossing soon takes surprising turns for mother and daughter: Maria falls in love with the charming dancer Otto, who supposedly knows her from before, and Lisa takes a liking to the widowed statistician Axel Staudach, who is traveling with his son Florian.

Bibi Blocksberg visits her friend Tina Martin at the riding stables during the summer vacation. This year there is to be a special horse race organized by Count Falko. However, the two friends run into trouble when Sophia von Gelenberg from an elite boarding school at Falkenstein Castle, a participant and close acquaintance of the house, arrives and tries to steal Tina's boyfriend Alexander. The shady businessman Hans Kakmann is also up to no good, and it's not just the foal Socrates, known as "Socke", he's after. Bibi tries to save Alex and Tina's relationship on the one hand and expose Kakmann's business practices on the other. But even witchcraft can't prevent her from turning everyone against her, Count Falko enrolling his son in boarding school and Kakman offering to buy the foal "Socke".

Leider sieht das im echten Leben ganz anders aus: Seine Lehrer behandeln ihn unfair, er wird von seinen Mitschülern wegen seines Nachnamens gehänselt und sein Vater Paul ist total streng. Einzig sein Freund Benni ist Alfons stets ein treuer Begleiter. Da hört Alfons von einem Fluggerätewettbewerb und sieht seine Chance gekommen, es allen zu beweisen. Bei diesem abenteuerlichen Unterfangen hilft ihm natürlich sein bester Freund Benni, aber auch die neue Klassenkameradin Emilia ist mit Rat und Tat dabei. Gemeinsam bereitet sich das Trio intensiv vor und baut unermüdlich an einer gigantischen Rakete, die die Modelle der anderen Klassenkameraden in den Schatten stellen soll. Doch das ist Alfons nicht genug, denn wer wäre er, wenn seine neuartige Rakete nicht wahrhaft explosiv werden würde.
