  It all begins with a mistake, an error with serious consequences: in a hospital the new-born babies of an Austrian couple and a Turkish family of immigrant workers are mixed up and go home with the wrong parents. By the time the mistake comes to light, it emerges that the Turkish family, including the baby, has been deported. The despairing Austrian couple begins a confusing odyssey through Turkey in order to track down the unsuspecting family to their native village. But they are not at all convinced that the babies have been mixed up. It is decided that the only way to know for sure is to have a blood test done. It is decided that the blood work is done in Vienna due to the better medical resources, but that will be far from simple. It will involve an illegal smuggling of the Turks across the Austrian border.

After 1933 a considerable number of German intellectuals emigrated to Turkey at the invitation of Atatürk and went on to definitively shape teaching and instruction in Turkish universities. Turkish-born filmmaker Önsöz accompanies the descendants of these German exiles and sheds light on a memorable piece of history whose meaning is still felt to this day, as these renowned Germans played a substantial role in the Europeanization of Turkey.

  Benjamin Button, der zu Zeiten des 1.Weltkriegs auf die Welt kommt ist nicht wie jedes andere Baby, er erblickt das Licht der Welt mit dem Gesicht eines Greises. Und während er innerlich heranwächst, wird sein Körper mit der Zeit immer jünger. Damit will sein Vater nach dem Tod seiner Mutter im Kindbett nichts zu tun haben und setzt den Jungen aus, doch seine Finderin Queenie nimmt ihn stattdessen auf, wo der Junge in einem Altersheim unter seinesgleich (zumindest optisch) heranwächst. Dort begegnet er auch der jungen Daisy, die die große Liebe seines Lebens werden soll, doch Benjamins junger Geist steckt in einem alten Körper und es steht zu befürchten, daß er als körperlich junger Mann schon von geistigem Verfall befallen sein wird. Button zieht in die Welt hinaus in dem Bewußtsein, daß er nur an einem Punkt in seinem Leben mit Daisy auf einer Höhe sein wird - doch das ist kein Grund, ein Leben nicht zu leben...

Zusammen mit seinem gutaussehenden Assistenten und Liebhaber František baut Mikolášek seine von Ruhm und Reichtum geprägte Karriere als Kräuterheiler erfolgreich aus.
