In the life of TV presenter Lisa, everything revolves around her talk show, celebrities and the ratings. There is just as little room for love as there is for her mother Maria. When the 66-year-old loses her memory after a fall in her apartment and wakes up in the hospital, she can only remember that she has never been to New York and sets off immediately. Lisa goes in search of Maria with her makeup artist Fred. She struck gold on a cruise ship that was just leaving for New York. As stowaways, the three have no choice but to earn the passage. While Fred is hired as an assistant by the Greek on-board magician Costa, Lisa and Maria have to work in room service. The crossing soon takes surprising turns for mother and daughter: Maria falls in love with the charming dancer Otto, who supposedly knows her from before, and Lisa takes a liking to the widowed statistician Axel Staudach, who is traveling with his son Florian.

Dieser ist zwar hoch angesehen und Mäzen der Oper, aber ansonsten ein Schürzenjäger, der kalt und berechnend vorgeht und auch vor Gewalt und Mord nicht zurückschreckt. Sein beliebter Nebenbuhler ist dem Baron ein Dorn im Auge und so setzt er alles daran, seine Verlobte nur allein für sich zu haben - mit tragischen Konsequenzen.

Musikalisches Roadmovie: Ein Paar aus Berlin begleitet einen DJ auf einer Europareise zu diversen Musikfestivals. Der freie Journalist Georg (Grégoire Gros) lebt mit seiner Freundin Vera (Eva Kessler) in Berlin. Während er sich um Schreibaufträge bemüht, ist sie mit ihrer Doktorarbeit beschäftigt. Als die beiden gerade zu einem gemeinsamen Ostseeurlaub aufbrechen wollen, erhält Georg das Angebot, über eine Psytrance-Veranstaltung zu berichten. So macht das Paar einen kleinen Umweg, um an dem Event teilnehmen zu können. Dort begegnen Georg und Vera dem DJ Dave (Adam Nümm), der Vera kurzerhand vorschlägt, ihn und seine Clique auf einer Festival-Tour durch Europa zu begleiten. Georg glaubt, die Reise für eine große Reportage, möglicherweise gar für ein Buchprojekt über die Goa-Szene nutzen zu können; Vera und Dave entwickeln indessen Gefühle füreinander.
