Eva Luna est l'histoire d'Eva Gonzalez, une jeune campagnarde qui, pour une raison qu'elle ignore est obligée de partir vivre à Los Angeles avec sa famille. Avant de partir, sa tante Augusta lui tire les cartes.... Augusta prédit à Eva un futur sombre, elle lui annonce qu'elle connaîtra un homme...et que cet homme lui fera connaître "Le Paradis et l'Enfer ". Cet homme, c'est Daniel Villanueva, un riche playboy qui semble avoir autant de succès dans les affaires qu'avec les femmes. Les femmes meurent pour lui...Daniel est veuf depuis quelques années. Eva se rend à L.A avec sa sœur et son père ; A son arrivée à L.A, Eva va devoir lutter pour survivre, trouver un emploi alors qu'elle est une immigrante qui n'a pas fait d'études, s'occuper de sa famille, et ne pas succomber aux nombreuses tentations qu'elle rencontrera dans la rue.. Argent facile, drogue, prostitution...ce qui ne sera pas le cas de sa sœur Marisol... La plus grande ennemie d'Eva est sans doute Marcela, mais elle n'est pas la seule, Il y a aussi Renata, la sinistre gouvernante des Arismendi, sans compter les pervers frères Arismendi, qui vont s'acharner à rendre la vie d'Eva impossible.. Leonardo Arismendi pour qui, Eva se transformera en une véritable obsession... Peu de temps après, un conducteur provoque un accident dans lequel meurt Ismael, le père d'Eva. La jeune femme jure alors de se venger de cet homme. Quelques temps plus tard, Eva fait la connaissance de Daniel Villanueva et de Leonardo Arismendi. Leonardo fait le pari qu'il pourra facilement séduire Eva.., mais la jeune femme le repousse, ce qui le rend complètement fou... et très vite Eva devient une obsession pour Leonardo... Quand le père de Daniel tombe gravement malade, celui-ci emploie Eva comme infirmière. Eva ignore que le véhicule qui a tué son père appartient à Daniel....même si le conducteur était Leonardo... Malgré tous les obstacles qui se dressent sur leur route et le nombre considérable de personnes qui tentent de les séparer, Daniel et Eva décident de se marier. Leonardo est conscient qu'il est coupable de la mort d'Ismaël, mais quand il découvre qu'Eva cherche à se venger de l'assassin de son père, il lui raconte que cet homme est Daniel, son fiancé...
