Expédition " Gombessa 5 " En 2019, Laurent a réalisé une première mondiale en mariant avec succès les moyens de la plongée à saturation initialement dédiée à l’exploitation offshore, avec les techniques de plongée autonome en recycleur à gestion électronique dans le but d’illustrer les écosystèmes profonds typiques de la Méditerranée, et de mettre en place des protocoles scientifiques à ces grandes profondeurs. Avec trois autres plongeurs, Antonin Guilbert, Yanick Gentil et Thibault Rauby, ils ont cohabité dans un module de 5m2 pressurisé jusqu’à 13 bars, soit l’équivalent de -120m de fond, pendant 28 jours. Quotidiennement, ils ont effectué des sorties pour explorer et étudier librement et sans limite de temps la zone crépusculaire entre 60 et 140 mètres de fond, de Marseille à Monaco. 28 jours à saturation, 400 heures d’immersion entre -60 et -144m, 21 sites visités entre Marseille et Monaco.
