In "A Cool New World" ist die Erdbevölkerung durch den Ausbruch eines Virus stark dezimiert worden. Diese Geschichte wird aus den Augen eines jungen Mannes erzählt, der sich eben noch mit einer wunderschönen Frau zu einem Date getroffen hat und sich urplötzlich in einen gefräßigen Zombie verwandelt. Im dritten Kapitel "Happy Birthday" freundet sich ein Maschinenbau-Absolvent während eines bevorstehenden Meteoriteneinschlags mit einem Roboter an.

Doch bald wird aus dem wilden Spiel tödlicher Ernst: Wenn Shazam seine besonderen Fähigkeiten nicht schnellstens in den Griff bekommt, wird er sich gegen die bösen Mächte von Dr. Thaddeus Sivana nicht zur Wehr setzen können.
