Selena Quintanilla-Perez war eine der größten Latino-Sängerin Ende des 20. Jahrhunderts. Auch als sie den Musiker und ihren zukünftigen Ehemann Chris Perez kennenlernt, bringt der Vater seine Zweifel ein. Doch die immer erfolgreicher werdende und von vielen Fans gefeierte Latinosängerin folgt ihrem Herzen, bis sie im Frühjahr 1994 auf der Straße angeschossen wird, stirbt und eine trauernde Familie, Ehemann und Fans zurücklässt.
