Unter den Tieren ist auch die 8 Meter lange und 2 Tonnen schwere Krokodildame Mao, der beim Abtransport der Tiere durch den Gechäftsmann die Flucht gelingt. Gut für das Tier, denn das neue zu Hause wäre nicht etwa ein schöner großer Sumpf gewesen, sondern die Küche in einem Restaurant. Auf der Flucht läuft das Krokodil Wen Yan über den Weg, die gerade von einem langen Auslandsaufenthalt zurückgekehrt ist und ihre gesamten Ersparnisse in ihrer Handtasche mit sich führt. Im Affekt verschluckt Mao die Handtasche und wird damit bald zum Ziel einer ganzen Reihe von selbsternannten Krokodiljäger, die scharf auf das Vermögen in ihrem Bauch sind.
