Ein in den USA ansässiger indischer Geschäftsmann sucht in seiner Heimat für Sohn Rajiv (Apoorva Agnihotri) eine Braut. Ganga (Mahima Chaudhary) scheint die ideale Wahl, um seinem amerikanisierten Sprössling die indischen Werte wieder näher zu bringen. Neffe Arjun (Shah Rukh Khan) soll den beiden ein wenig auf die Sprünge helfen. Doch noch bevor es zur Hochzeit kommt, erlebt Ganga die rohen, westlichen Sitten ihres Verlobten: Er trinkt, raucht und flirtet gern – ein wahres Partytier. Hilfe suchend wendet sie sich an Arjun, der sie mit offenen Armen empfängt.
