Seit über 40 Jahren widmet die Performance-Künstlerin Marina Abramovic ihr Leben der Kunst. 40 Jahre, in denen sie ihre physischen und mentalen Kräfte auslotete, ihren Körper malträtierte und an seine Grenzen brachte. 2010 widmete ihr das MoMA eine umfangreiche Einzelausstellung, die mehr als eine halbe Million Besucher anzog. In der Ausstellung war Abramovic selbst präsent: Drei Monate lang, während der gesamten Ausstellungsdauer, saß sie sechs Tage die Woche jeweils sieben Stunden in der Mitte des Atriums bewegungslos auf einem Stuhl. Einzeln konnten Zuschauer sich ihr gegenüber setzen, um mit ihr in einen „geistigen Dialog“ zu treten. Der Film begleitet Abramovic vor, während und nach der Ausstellung und zeichnet so ein intimes Porträt einer Künstlerin, die ohne Zweifel als „Mutter der Performance-Kunst“ bezeichnet werden kann.

So beginnt ein Katz-und-Maus-Spiel zwischen ihm und seinem Gegenspieler. Wird Tom es schaffen, seine Angst zu bezwingen und das "Unspielbare Stück" ohne einen Fehler über die Bühne zu bringen?

In 1877, in a watch factory in a valley in north-western Switzerland, Josephine produces balance spindles, tiny parts that ensure the agitation movement ("unrueh") of the mechanical watches.
