Since she can't find a lodging, she moves to a former morgue. The small house is already occupied by a quirky and grumpy graveyard keeper named Bozicek. Their house sharing leads to a series of comical conflicts, but they eventually fall in love and Eliska proves to her ex-husband that she is able to stand on her own.

Denn von nun an klebt das Pech an Carson's Mannschaft und die einfachsten Übungen misslingen. Das Desaster ist perfekt, als sich die Jets und die Sharks wieder mal duellieren, mit dem Ergebnis, dass die Verletztenliste auf beiden Seiten so hoch ist, dass ein Einsatz beim Turnier nicht mehr möglich scheint.

Familie Esnard, beziehungsweise das, was von ihr übrig ist, gerät in noch größeren Aufruhr. Vater Michel, ohnehin konsterniert über den eigenen Ausstieg aus dem Leben, kriegt einen Wutanfall nach dem nächsten. Und Romains Mutter erklärt, dass sie die Scheidung will. Eines Tages findet Romain in seinem Briefkasten eine Postkarte. Und am nächsten Tag eine weitere, kleine Hinweise, an welchem Ort nach Madeleine zu suchen ist.
