Der Filmarchivist David (Rupert Evans) sitzt in einem Vorführraum und sieht sich alte Aufnahmen zu einem Mordfall an, der vor über einhundert Jahren in seinem eigenen Haus stattgefunden hat. Bald darauf verschwindet Alice, doch als David seine Frau bei der Polizei als vermisst meldet, wird er schnell selbst zum Hauptverdächtigen. Während die Polizei mehr und mehr davon überzeugt ist, dass David seine Frau umgebracht hat, versucht er zu beweisen, dass eine geisterhafte Präsenz in seinem Haus ihr Unwesen treibt und für das Verschwinden von Alice verantwortlich ist...
