Der Film folgt den Spuren, die der rebellische Mönch in Tibet und Indien hinterlassen hat. In Gesprächen mit alten Zeitzeugen und jungen Tibetern entwickelt der Film ein spannendes Gegenbild zum mystifizierten Tibet
