  Joelle Davidovich Pomponette, genannt Pompo, hat ein Auge für erfolgreiche Filme. Als aufstrebende Produzentin in der Traumfabrik Nyallywood und Enkelin eines legendären Film-Magnaten liefert sie einen verlässlichen Verkaufsschlager nach dem anderen - mit wirklicher Liebe zum Kino hat das aber wenig zu tun, es sind allesamt trashige B-Movies, mit viel nackter Haut, Action und Explosionen. Pompos persönlicher Assistent, der nervös-neurotische Gene, vertritt einen ganz anderen Ansatz: Kino ist Kunst und muss verzaubern! Pompo ist skeptisch, lässt sich aber von Genes Faszination mitreißen und erteilt ihm den Auftrag, ihr nächstes Drehbuch zu inszenieren. Und so stürzt sich Gene in ein Abenteuer, um Kunst und Kommerz zu vereinen, sein knappes Budget nicht zu überreizen und schließlich: rechtzeitig fertig zu werden! The orchestra ventured out of the ivory tower of high culture into boroughs of low life for the sake of 250 youngsters. They had been strangers to classical music, but after arduous but thrilling preparation they danced to Stravinsky's 'Le Sacre du Printemps' ('The Rite of Spring'). Recorded with a breathtaking fidelity of sound, this film from Thomas Grube and Enrique Sánchez Lansch documents the stages of the Sacre project and offers deep insights into the rehearsals of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

  Things could truly be better for regionally successful entrepreneur Manfred Brenner in the mid-1980s. For Brenner, however, there is no reason to worry, because he is firmly counting on a breakthrough with his newly founded company FlowTex. With innovative horizontal drilling systems, he wants to revolutionize underground pipeline construction. But at first the big success remains elusive. Rolf Eden is a larger than life octogenarian with long, blond hair… his girlfriend is younger than his grandchild. This unflinching conviction was essential for Eden when he, coming from a Jewish background, entered the German entertainment business of the 1950s. Leaving Israel via Paris, he returned to post war Germany to open a nightclub on West Berlin famous Boulevard Kudamm, decidedly blocking out the country’s recent dark history.
