Wo ansehen Who Owns My Village? in Deutschland
The Baltic Sea resort of Göhren is scenically located on the island of Rügen. But nature and tourism do not always go hand in hand. The rich investor W. Horst from North Rhine-Westphalia is building more and more hotels and accommodation, the planning of which is approved by four men on the municipal council without any problems. The motto is growth. But when the latest project envisages building in a nature reserve, Nadine and her father Bernd no longer want to accept that "the four off the peg" interfere in the environment of their hometown and determine their village. They see an upcoming local election, in which they must win a majority, as their only chance to oppose this.

With The New Gospel, Milo Rau is staging a "Revolt of Dignity". Led by political activist Yvan Sagnet, the movement is fighting for the rights of migrants who came to Europe across the Mediterranean to be enslaved on the tomato fields in southern Italy and to live in ghettos under inhumane conditions.

This is a far-reaching interrogation of something that’s usually regarded as the undoubted precondition of life (generally) and filmmaking (specifically): an objective, at best yet interpretable reality. Starting with Gerhard Mack, retired professor of theoretical elementary particle physics at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) in Hamburg, Claudia Lehmann and Konrad Hempel set out on a filmic expedition that aims for the universal and at the same time delves into the molecular (and smaller) realm, asking for the meaning of every kind of life in our complex world.
