Mario Lorenzini was a working class man, a hiker, a hunter, and a member of the Italian Walser community. In the 70s, he bought a super8 camera and started shooting home-movies with it. Through his lens we experience the seasons passing by in Priami, a small village on the Swiss-Italian border. With his cinematic eye, he explores the people around him, while a second point of view emerges, giving an interpretation of his world, his life and his sense of cinema. His relationship with masculinity and the missed relationship with the "other sex" is often highlighted, enhancing the conflict between the expectations of his community and the reality of not fitting in.

Mario, an exemplary man, lives in a village on the Galician coast. In the old people’s home, where he works as a nurse, everyone appreciates him. When the best known narco in the area, Antonio Padín, recently released from prison, enters the residence, Mario tries to make Antonio feel at home. Now, Padín's two sons, Kike and Toño, are in charge of the family business. The failure of an operation will put Kike in jail and cause them to owe a large debt to a Colombian supplier. Toño will turn to the nurse to try to convince his father to assume the debt. But Mario has his own plans.

Trained for a career in opera, Lanza became the first true crossover artist when MGM made him a matinee idol during the 1950's with box office hits such as 'The Toast of New Orleans' and 'The Great Caruso'. But within 10 years, the star that glowed so brightly burned itself out - and Lanza's sudden death in 1959 at the age of 38 was the first tragic death of the modern pop and rock era.
