American rapper, songwriter Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., also known as Lil Wayne began his music career at the tender age of nine. He joined Cash Money Records as the youngest member of the label. In 1997 he joined the group Hot Boys and got his first taste of success and fame after the release of the groups major selling album Guerrilla Warfare. In 1999 Lil Wayne released his debut album The Block is Hot, which hit the top of the Hip Hop charts, selling over one million copies in the U.S and went on to become double platinum. The sale of his next two albums sold modestly, however the release of the Carter series helped cement the rappers reputation as one of the leading hip-hop performers. Lil Wayne’s sixth studio album, The Carter III, was released in June 2008 and featured appearances by T-Pain, Jay-Z and Busta Rhymes.

This is an exhilarating experience both visually and aurally. How wonderful that Barenboim is havng such success with Verdi this late in his career.The excitement and power is there in all the big movements and the tempi shouldn't upset anyone. There is clarity and drive in all the big choral fugues and the climaxes will knock your socks off. But it was the quiet moments I found most moving. The incredibly detalied camera work increases this sense of intimacy and the video quality is excellent. Really.

George Thorogood is an American icon. In a career that stretches back to the mid-70's, he and his band The Destroyers have released 16 studio albums with worldwide sales in excess of 15 million. 2013 saw George & The Destroyers make their long-overdue debut at the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival. Performing at an event that had previously played host to many of their musical heroes inspired the band to produce one of their finest performances on a set list that stretched back to their 1977 debut album right up to recent releases. The band are in top form and the show both looks and sounds spectacular. The concert was held shortly before the release of their self-titled Stone Temple Pilots album and the tracklisting combines new songs interspersed with their classic hits.
