Sing The Blues is the story of Travis Preston, an aging artist and troubadour who as a teenager in the eighties was considered by many in the music industry to be the 'Next Big Thing.' Now 25 years later he continues to write and play music in spite of an industry that has left him behind and in spite of his struggle to even survive. After receiving a call that his former bass player Adam has died, he borrows a car from his father and sets out for Nashville to play for the celebration of life gathering. At the gathering, he reconnects with his other band-mates and is forced to confront the reason for Adam's death and his own uncomfortable past.

In 1982, the Argentine military dictatorship invaded the Malvinas Islands, located 500 kilometers off the country’s coast. The dictatorial government left no stone unturned in using propaganda to convince the people of their mission. Consisting almost entirely of excerpts from the TV program 60 minutes, 1982 summarizes the media campaign that took place over the 74 days of war, when Argentine troops tried to take their island back from the British. We watch TV anchormen ask viewers to donate money for weapons, inspire them to sing the national anthem at home, and welcome government leaders as heroes as they “spontaneously” show up at the studio to celebrate the importance of the mission for the motherland.

When the COVID-19 pandemic forced musical activities to shut down in March 2020, singers searched for ways to stay connected and sing live music together. Online solutions such as Zoom helped groups socially, but did not allow a choir to rehearse and perform together. Several tech-savvy musicians turned to old-school audio technology to organize parking lot choirs, with each singer safely isolated in their own car. The idea spread through social media across the US and Canada, and reached the attention of the New York Times, the Today Show, and NPR. "The Drive to Sing" tells the story of the parking lot choir, the cast of characters who worked together to develop and refine it, and the singers who kept their musical communities going during this time of fear and isolation.
