  Battle of the Queen is a film from and about rural Europe, capturing a timeless cultural event: a series of head-to-head fights of cows set in the valley in sunny Southern Switzerland, nestled amongst the Alps.   Gentrification and displacement are affecting all big cities throughout the world, but none more egregiously than my hometown of New York City. As a Native New Yorker, I am disturbed to see my beloved hometown become a haven for the wealthy when it was once a city that valued culture and community over money. Before Covid happened, the sky seemed to be the limit for corporate greed and that is when I started making this film. I chose specifically to focus on two lower-class neighborhoods that are in peril- Queens and the Lower East Side. In documenting these neighborhoods under threat, I met local activists whose lives centered around maintaining the ethos of their community.

  A policeman on patrolling duty is asked to investigate a doctor's house nearby, from where a woman's repeated screams have been heard. The doctor does not let him into the house, insisting that it was his wife screaming due to an injection being pushed and that everything is normal. The policeman's suspicions are not allayed, especially when the neighbors claim they have often heard the wife scream but never seen her. The next morning, the policeman finds the doctor in the police station filing a missing report of his wife. The quaint little misty hill town of Rimtik is shaken when the policemen starts to dig deep into the doctor's queer life.

  Best friends Leah, Jada and Shanice lose their jobs due to the economy failing in the town they live in. They each try looking for new jobs in town but can't find anyone hiring. With bills piling up and no jobs available, they struggle to make ends meet. Then one day, by chance, Leah comes across a gunrunner hiding a bag of AK-47's. Leah strikes up a deal with the gunrunner to buy his guns and sell them on the black market. Things start going well with the women selling guns until Shanice's boyfriend, Marquis, finds out that she is selling guns. Marquis and his cousin Berg then decide they are going to steal the guns from the woman and set up their own operation.
