  One of Shakespeare’s early comedies, The Comedy of Errors is a fast-paced farce exploring mistaken identities and relations lost and found. This production was captured by Digital Theatre live at the Clapham Community Project. It was devised specifically for schools and families by the Royal Shakespeare Company in collaboration with critically acclaimed theatre company, Told by an Idiot. Directed by Paul Hunter, it features a cast made up from the RSC’s ensemble and uses a pared down script, props, live music and physical comedy to convey the story.

  In Piratas y Libélulas, Isabel de Ocampo follows the staging of a play by a group of pupils in a high school in Las Tres Mil Viviendas, a conflictive area in Seville. “Raúl y Julia” is the version, adapted to the present day, of Shakespeare´s “Romeo and Juliet” presented by Los Shespirs (in a joking reference to the English author), a group formed by gypsy and non-gypsy pupils in which there are difficulties and conflicts, but also joy and the desire for self-improvement.

  Shakespeare's Othello is reimagined as Sümbül, the former Chief Black Eunuch who falls in love with an Italian slave girl in 17th century Istanbul. The story is told to a coffeehouse audience by a troupe of musicians headed by a traditional storyteller, Meddah Hayali. The emotional burden of the film is carried by the unique musical setting.

  Shakespeare's 'King Lear' travelling on the dusty and risky roads to the remotest forgotten villages in the mountains of Turkey where even drinking water can hardly reach, turns delicately into 'Queen Lear' in the hands of a peasant-women theatre group. In the early 2000s, a handful of peasant women from the mountains of southern Turkey formed a theater group, which later became the subject of the documentary, The Play. The women acted out their own life stories in the village, and the play changed their lives. Now, they take to the road with an adaptation of Shakespeare's King Lear, traveling the dusty, dangerous roads to the farthest-flung mountain villages where there isn't even running water. On the road, their lives merge with the world of King Lear and become bound up with "the good and the bad", "the young and the old", "the rich and the poor", "the honest and the dishonest" of the play.

  Londres, 1593. William Shakespeare és un poeta, dramaturg i actor força conegut, però que passa per dificultats econòmiques i creatives. Per sortir del pas, ha venut a la seva pròxima obra, que encara no ha escrit, a l'empresari Philip Henslowe i al famós actor Richard Burbage. Shakespeare està convençut que, quan trobi una musa, tots els seus problemes desapareixeran, però tots els intents li fallen fins que coneix la bella Viola de Lesseps. A la jove dama li encanta el teatre i somia pujar a l'escenari, però ho té prohibit, perquè només els homes poden ser actors. També és una gran admiradora de les obres de Shakespeare. Aleshores decideix vestir-se d'home i, amb el nom de "Thomas Kent", presentar-se a una audició per a la pròxima obra del poeta de Stratford, i és escollida.
