Terror has a new name.
Després de recuperar-se d'una ferida de bala en el cap, el veterà de la Guerra del Golf Jack Starks (Adrien Brody) torna al seu Ver-mont natal patint amnèsia. Quan l'acusen de l'assassinat d'un policia i l'envien a un psiquiàtric, el Dr. Becker (Kris Kristofferson) el sotmet a un tractament controvertit. L'injecten drogues experimentals, li col-loquen una jaqueta de força i el tanquen durant hores en un dipòsit de cadàvers de la morgue.
