Elokuva etenee saarella reaaliajassa ja näennäisesti yhdellä otoksella. Erik Poppen ohjaama elokuva perustuu silminnäkijöiden kertomuksiin ja hän on halunnut kuvata tapahtumat nuorten näkökulmasta. Iskujen tekijän nimeä ei elokuvassa mainita lainkaan ja hänet näytetään vain muutamaan otteeseen etäällä olevana tummana hahmona.
