Syksyllä 2014 Ukrainan ATO-vyöhykkeellä olevaan Ukrainan armeijan pataljoonaan on soluttautunut vakooja, jonka tarkoituksena häpäistä Ukrainan sotilaat ja rikkoa aselepo ennen seuraavaa Minskin kokousta. Tiedustelupalvelun kapteeni Sajenko, lempinimeltään Banderas, saa tehtäväkseen koota iskuryhmä etsiäkseen ja eliminodakseen tämä sabotööri, koodinimeltään "Hodok". Tehtävää vaikeuttaa se tosiasia, että pataljoona on Sajenkon kotikylässä Veselessä. Paikalliset asukkaat näkevät Sajenkon petturina ja Ukrainan armeija hallituksen epäluotettavana agenttina.
