Itse asiassa Piin selviytymiskertomus on niin uskomaton, etteivät sitä nielleet aikanaan edes onnettomuustutkijat. Piin tarina alkaa Intian Puducherrysta, jossa asuvat Patelit omistavat eläintarhan ja päättävät muuttaa Kanadaan. Matka taittuu japanilaisella rahtialuksella, joka joutuu hirmumyrskyyn. Kaikki muut menehtyvät paitsi nuori Pi , seepra, hyeena, oranki sekä 200-kiloinen bengalintiikeri nimeltään "Richard Parker". Melko nopeasti eläimet tappavat toisensa, kunnes vain Pi ja Richard Parker ovat jäljellä. Eikä hengissä pysymisestä tule helppoa Pin kannalta. Elokuva perustuu Yann Martelin menestysromaaniin.

When one of them falls in the sea, their financial PR seems to know more than she's letting on. Worricker soon learns the extent of their shady activities and he must act quickly to survive when links to British prime minister Alec Beasley come to light.
