Kesken haastattelun Katnissin puku alkaa palaa, ja se muuttuu matkijanärhen puvuksi. Cinna saa kärsiä liian rohkeasta asuvalinnastaan, sillä matkijanärhi on symboli meneillään olevalle kapinalle. Kapina leviää ja jokainen joutuu valitsemaan puolensa.

Hätäsignaalin kutsumana planeetalle laskeutuu kaksi alusta, toisessa on joukko palkkionmetsästäjiä, toista johtaa mies Riddickin menneisyydestä. Joukoilla on Riddickin suhteen erilaiset agendat. Eikä Riddick oikein tahdo taipua niistä kumpaankaan.
