Vaikka ei sinänsä, Paul on työhönsä melko tyytyväinen, ja hoitaa sen tunnollisesti, välillä ehkä vähän liiankin tunnollisesti. Ihan suunnitelmien mukaan ei mene kotirintamallakaan, sillä Paul elelee äitinsä ja tyttärensä kanssa, eikä vastakkaisen sukupuolen kanssa ole oikein lyönyt kipinää viime aikoina. Paulin matalalentoinen elämä saa eräänä päivänä käänteen, kun hurja rikollisporukka valtaa ostarin, ja ottaa panttivankeja. Toiminnan keskipisteeseen jäänyt Paul ei aio paeta tilannetta, vaan päättää pelastaa päivän. Melkoisesti ylipainoisen ja lempeän ostarikytän kuoren alta paljastuukin pian varsinainen toimintasankari.
