Rebecca on yksi maailman parhaista sotavalokuvaajista. Hengenvaarallinen, nuoren itsemurhapommittajanaisen tarinaa dokumentoiva kuvauskeikka Kabulissa vie Rebeccan sairaalaan ja toipilaaksi kotiin. Kotona putoaa kuitenkin toinen pommi: Rebeccan aviomies Marcus ja tyttäret esittävät uhkavaatimuksen – sydäntäraastavat hyvästit on toivotettu liian monta kertaa ja nyt Rebeccan on valittava joko työ tai koti. Rebecca joutuu mahdottoman valinnan eteen. Hänen rakkautensa perhettä kohtaan on ylittämätön, mutta samaan aikaan syyt, joiden vuoksi hän tekee työtään käyvät painavammiksi.
