Egyptissä, syvällä maapallon uumenissa, sijaitsee 3000 vuotta vanha muumioiden kaupunki, jota hallitsee Faarao. Keisarillisen käskyn mukaan Faaraon tyttären, prinsessa Neferin, täytyy naida nuorukainen nimeltään Thut, mutta kumpikaan heistä ei ole halukas astumaan avioliittoon. Nefer unelmoi vapaudesta ja Thut on allerginen sitoutumiselle. Jumalten sanaa on kuitenkin toteltava, joten seitsemän päivän päästä heidän on mentävä naimisiin ja Thutin on annettava Neferille hääpäivänä Faaraon hänelle antama muinainen sormus. Heidän tutustuessaan paremmin Poppylle paljastuu, että Risulla on salattu menneisyys. Risu on kuulunut Poppyn ihailemaan poikabändiin nimeltä BroZone, johon ovat kuuluneet myös Risun neljä veljeä: Floyd, John Dory, Spruce ja Clay. Risu oli tosin vielä pikkulapsi, kun BroZone hajosi, ja samalla hajosi myös perhe, joten sen koommin Risu ei ole veljiään nähnyt. Mutta kun ilkeä poptähtikaksikko—Velvet ja Veneer—sieppaa Risun Floyd-veljen tämän laulutaitojen takia, Risu ja Poppy suuntaavat vauhdikkaalle ja tunteikkaalle matkalle saattaakseen veljeskatraan taas yhteen ja pelastaakseen Floydin popunholaan painumistakin pahemmalta kohtalolta.
