An all-star cast assembled for the Met’s first-ever performances of Rossini’s romantic retelling of Sir Walter Scott’s epic poem The Lady of the Lake. Joyce DiDonato is Elena, the title heroine, who is being pursued by not one, but two tenors—setting off sensational vocal fireworks. Juan Diego Flórez is King James V of Scotland, disguised as the humble Uberto, and John Osborn sings his political enemy, and rival in love, Rodrigo Di Dhu. Complicating matters is the fact that Elena herself loves Malcolm, a trouser role sung by mezzo-soprano Daniela Barcellona, and that she is the daughter of Duglas (Oren Gradus), another of the king’s political adversaries. Paul Curran’s atmospheric production is conducted by Michele Mariotti.

"In the Line of Fire...Larger Than Live" is the debut video release from metal maestro's DragonForce. Shot during the band's Ultimate Stage headline show at 2014's Loud Park Festival in the Saitama Super Arena, Tokyo, the band used over 10 camera angles to capture the raw energy of their show and instrumental dexterity for which they are rightly celebrated worldwide. The track listing features a mixture of new songs combined with the bands' classic foot stomping anthems and lightning fast shred-fests. "In the Line of Fire...Larger Than Live" also features special insight into the DragonForce "Maximum Overload World Tour" with off tour, behind the scenes, and backstage footage.

The men don't have a thing for big celebrations and anniversaries, but for the 50th anniversary an exception was made. By the end of 2015 a large anniversary concert took place at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.

Since her '70s heyday as disco's reigning diva (and one of its most adventurous artists), Donna Summer has scored the odd hit: "She Works Hard for the Money," "This Time I Know It's for Real." She's still best remembered for the likes of "Last Dance," "Dim All the Lights," and "I Feel Love," though, and this VH1-tie-in comeback bid concentrates on full-bodied if somewhat murkily mixed versions of those classics and their kin. The two new studio cuts that round out the disc are OK at best, although they do display Summer's ability to adapt to changes in pop-dance sounds.

Elle l'a repris quatre ans plus tard, ouvrant la saison 2017-2018 dans une nouvelle production évocatrice de Sir David McVicar. Sa performance n’est rien de moins qu’un tour de force, combinant engagement dramatique et véritable bel canto, dans un équilibre entre la puissante intensité du rôle et des moments de lyrisme délicat. Dans le rôle d'Adalgisa, la jeune prêtresse tiraillée entre amour et devoir, la mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato livre une interprétation empreinte d'une grande nuance émotionnelle. Le ténor Joseph Calleja est le proconsul romain agressif Pollione. Matthew Rose est le guerrier Oroveso, père de Norma. À la tête du Met, le maestro Carlo Rizzi fait ressortir les couleurs vibrantes de la partition magistrale de Bellini.
