Les 10 juin et 27 juillet 2014, Vanessa Paradis a proposé une création pour le moins ambitieuse au Festival Les Nuits de Fourvière : reprendre, de la première à la dernière chanson, et accompagnée par l’Orchestre du Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Lyon, le très beau Love songs. Un double album sorti au printemps 2013 dont presque la moitié des titres ont été écrits et composés par Benjamin Biolay, auteur en outre des arrangements et de la réalisation.

Verdi wrote this five act opera with a French Libretto for the Paris opera. Premiere 1867. Then there are three versions of this opera, the French 1867 version, the revised Italian four Act Don Carlo 1884, plus the Modena version 1886. This version is the 1884 version with Act One reinstated, as well as the original beginning of Act 2. To complicate matters the French opera was simply translated into Italian, and then the changes were made. There is an even newer edition completed in 1980 by Ricordi, and others floating around as well.

Paul Weller Live at the Royal Albert Hall does just that. Filmed in 2000, he is backed by longtime associates Steve White on drums and Steve Cradock on guitar, plus Edgar Jones on bass and Chris Holland on keyboards. Also on hand are Robert Kirby and a 16-piece string orchestra, accompanying the band on most songs. The performances are tight and the production quality is excellent.
