Scritto da Frank Cottrell Boyce e basato sul libro Natasha's Story di Michael Nicholson, racconta la guerra di Bosnia nel 1992, quando cominciò l'assedio di Sarajevo, vista da una troupe TV britannica. Uno dei giornalisti (S. Dillane) raccoglie una bambina, la bosniaca e musulmana Emira, e la porta a Londra per adottarla. Ma si fa viva sua madre per reclamarla. Criticabile sotto vari aspetti (disinvolta mescolanza di vero e falso, documentario e finzione; dichiarazioni di uomini politici, pescate negli archivi; ricorso all'“Adagio” di Albinoni, troppo “bello”, troppo usato, dunque quasi “osceno”), ma impossibile negare che funzioni sul piano dell'informazione, della comunicazione, dell'emozione. Esplicita denuncia dell'ignavia dell'ONU, delle vergogne della politica europea, dell'indifferenza comoda di tanti di noi in Europa. Meglio la 1ª parte che la 2ª.
