Ora Sydney dovrebbe riuscire a farsi strada nel mitico (per lui) mondo dello Star System hollywoodiano ma non è che in redazione ci siano molti disposti ad aiutarlo. A partire, inizialmente, da Allison che dichiara di odiarlo (ha compiuto involontariamente un attentato all'integrità del romanzo che la giovane collega sta scrivendo) ma che finisce con l'aiutarlo quando si ficca nei guai. Il che accade a ritmo costante perché Sydney riesce a mettersi in competizione con il suo diretto superiore e a creare problemi (uno dei quali di tipo canino) alla starlette in ascesa Sophie Maes.
