Tras la mortífera manifestación nacionalista blanca "Unite the Right" de Charlottesville, Virginia, en 2017, las abogadas Roberta "Robbie" Kaplan y Karen Dunn presentaron una demanda civil contra 17 líderes y organizaciones nacionalistas blancas en nombre de nueve demandantes que sufrieron lesiones físicas y emocionales mientras protestaban pacíficamente contra la manifestación.
