  Mwas, a young aspiring actor from upcountry Kenya dreams of becoming an accomplished actor one day, and in pursuit of this, he makes his way to Nairobi, the city of opportunity. Luck or the lack of it brings Mwas face to face with the city’s criminals and forms a friendship with a small time crook who takes him in. Since then, they have operated collectively, becoming the only successful example of a worker occupation in post-socialist Europe. Today, as they seek a new model of collective ownership, the microcosmic world of the factory clashes with the forces of the globalized market economy, having an increasingly brutal impact on wages and the organization of the factory, causing rising disaffection among the workers. Filmmaker Srđan Kovačević returns regularly over a five year period to make a film that charts the evolution of this communal enterprise. Factory to the Workers tells the inside story of the workers who challenged the dominant economic narrative with their actions. After a decade, the same question remains: can a factory in the hands of workers survive at the periphery of capitalism, or do we need a bigger dream?

  "Fabula" is an experimental film by Jordan Baseman that asks questions about our dreams and dream experiences during the coronavirus pandemic of 2020. The film is narrated by the Harvard Medical School Dream Researcher, Dr. Deirdre Barrett. We hear Dr. Barrett discuss various dreams that she has collected through her research into Pandemic Dreams, their collective commonality, their significance and meanings, and their relevance to our times. Dr. Barrett also comments on the uniqueness of the Pandemic and the unusual dreams that have arisen as a result. The film was recorded entirely in London during Lockdown, using 16mm film and 6k digital film cameras. Time-lapse footage of clouds, are super-imposed with footage of the Thames and threaded through, layered with various shots lit by infra-red light. Fabula muses on our relationships with ourselves, one another, our environments and the meanings of our dreams while living with Covid-19.
