Barbie speelt de rol van Odette, die een eenhoorn volgt naar het Betoverde Bos. Daar wordt ze door de boosaardige tovenaar Roodbaard in een zwaan verandert. Roodbaard is van plan de Sprookjesprinses van de troon te stoten om zelf de macht in handen te nemen. De Sprookjesprinses weet de betovering van Odette voor een deel op te heffen. Zodat Odette 's nachts een mens is en overdag een zwaan. Odette weet niet zeker of zij wel de juiste persoon, maar ziet het als haar taak om het Betoverde Bos te redden van Roodbaard.
