Mannskoret har fått sitt største og mest absurde oppdrag noensinne: De skal varme opp for hardrock-bandet Black Sabbath foran 10.000 mennesker på festivalen Tons Of Rock i Halden. Skjebnen vil at dette skal skje parallelt med at dirigenten, Ivar Krogh Hovd, er i ferd med å dø av kreft. Den felles drømmen om den store konserten og vissheten om at døden kanskje kommer først, fører mennene i koret stadig tettere sammen. De ellers så overfladiske og spøkefulle koristene lærer seg å sette mer pris på både koret, vennskapet og livet selv. Samtidig hjelper sangen dem å uttrykke følelser det ikke er så lett å sette ord på for voksne mannfolk.
