Zbiega się to z momentem poznania pięknej kobiety oraz środowiska rebeliantów, którzy w ramach walki z sianym przez władzę terrorem uczą się na pamięć książek, aby ich zawartość nie zniknęła wraz ze zniknięciem papieru. Film jest drugą już ekranizacją powieści Ray'a Bradbury'ego o takim samym tytule.
