Anime skupia się wokół pewnej studentki college’u o imieniu Aoi Tsubaki. Nie jest ona jednak zwykłą dziewczyną, gdyż odziedziczyła po zmarłym dziadku zdolność widzenia duchów nazywanych ayakashi. Aoi szczyci się także niesamowitym talentem do gotowania. Pewnego dnia, kiedy Aoi dokarmiała ayakashi, nagle pojawił się demon, gospodarz „Tenjin-ya”. Demon porywa Aoi, twierdząc, że jej dziadek zaciągnął u niego wysoki dług, w związku z czym dziewczyna musi teraz zostać jego oblubienicą. Aoi nie zgadza się na taki układ, ale oferuje demonowi, że spłaci dług dziadka pracując w jego karczmie. Wtem zakłada własną restauracje "Księżycowy Kwiat" wraz z dziewięcioogoniastym ayakashi Ginjim, by spłacić dług jak najszybciej. Czy Aoi zdąży? Anime także skupia się na tajemnicach dzieciństwa Aoi, gdyż została uratowana po porzuceniu matki, przez tajemniczego ayakashi. Czy Aoi dowie się, kto to był?

Tam odkrywa rzeczy, o których nigdy nie śniła...

Historia przedstawia alternatywne zakończenie Steins;Gate. W tym świecie Okabe po nieudanej próbie uratowania Kurisu całkowicie pogrążył się w depresji, porzucił swoje alter ego i za wszelką cenę próbuje zapomnieć o tragicznej przeszłości. Z jego stanu wyrywa go znajomy Kurisu, który zdradza mu, że rozpoczęto pracę nad maszyną pozwalającą na przechowanie ludzkich wspomnień, a następnie odtworzenie na ich podstawie zachowań i osobowości w formie symulacji. Okabe używa tego wynalazku, żeby „przywrócić do życia” Kurisu. Niestety, ponowne igranie z czasem i ludzkim życiem doprowadza do następnych, coraz gorszych tragedii.
