Tony'nin hayatındaki en büyük zevki dans etmektir. Hatta bundan başka bir şeyi düşünmez bile. Her cumartesi gecesi takıldıkları diskoda dans eden Tony, bu hobisinin üzerine gider ve dans pistlerinin kralı olma hayalini gerçekleştirmek ister. Gittiği diskoda Stephanie adlı kızla tanıştıktan sonra ise hayatı değişmeye başlar. Kendisi gibi dansı bir tutku haline getirmiş olan Stephanie ile dans partneri olan Tony, şehirde düzenlenen büyük bir dans yarışmasına katılırlar ve hayalleri gerçek olmak üzeredir.

Los Angeles, Mart 1928: Genellikle çalışan sınıftan insanların oturduğu banliyö kesimlerinden birindeyiz. Telefon operatörü olarak çalışan anne Christine Collins, güzel bir cumartesi sabahında işe gitmek üzere evden ayrılırken dokuz yaşındaki oğlu Walter ile vedalaşır. Akşam evine döndüğünde her ebeveynin en büyük kabusuyla yüz yüze gelir: Biricik oğlu ortadan kaybolmuştur. Polis tarafından çok yoğun bir arama çalışması başlatılır. Ancak küçük Walter hiçbir iz bırakmadan ortadan yok olmuştur. Aradan beş ay geçtikten sonra polisten haber gelir. Christine’in oğlu olduğunu iddia eden bir çocuk bulunmuştur. İtibarını kurtarmak isteyen polis, anne ile oğlunun kavuşmasını medya önünde bir halkla ilişkiler etkinliği gösterisi olarak organize eder.

This is Not Me tells the story of unhappy gay men who have had to marry women to hide their sexual orientation in the face of societal and family pressure in Turkey, and their own internal conflicts. The three main characters of the film, Mustafa, Mehmet and Yusuf migrated to Istanbul from small towns and come from conservative families. The film reveals each characters’ world: exhausted from continually playing at social roles and lying about their identity, faltering between their reality and their dreams, frustrated and stuck in their lives. It also looks at the subject from the aspect of women who are the other victims of these marriages. Mehmet and Yusuf, both married to women, act the part of heterosexual males and family men within their own social circles.
