1986 nahm Paul Simon in Südafrika sein Erfolgsalbum "Graceland" auf. Der Dokumentarfilm "Paul Simon - Under African Skies" begleitet ihn auf seiner Rückkehr nach Südafrika und erzählt die turbulente Entstehungsgeschichte des legendären Albums. Nach einer Südafrika-Reise fasste Simon den Entschluss, gemeinsam mit schwarzen Musikern von dort ein Album aufzunehmen, auf dem südafrikanische Rhythmen und Klänge mit US-amerikanischem Folkrock verschmelzen. Daraus entstand ein musikalisches Meisterwerk, mit dem sich Simon aber auch direkt in politisches Kreuzfeuer begab: Man warf ihm vor, den Kulturboykott zu unterlaufen, der von den Vereinten Nationen über Südafrika verhängt worden war, um Druck auf das Apartheidregime auszuüben. Er wurde zeitweise sogar auf die schwarze Liste von ANC und UN gesetzt. Die Kontroversen konnten dem kometenhaften Aufstieg des Albums nicht wirklich etwas anhaben. 1986 verkaufte sich "Graceland" weltweit über 14 Millionen Mal und wurde von der Kritik hochgelobt.

Regisseur Florent-Emilio Siri erzählt die Geschichte des französischen Chansonniers. François zählte in den 60er Jahren zu den berühmtesten Musikern seines Landes und erlangte Weltruhm durch das Stück "Comme d'Habitude", das anschließend von Frank Sinatra ins Englische übersetzt und in "My Way" umbenannt wurde. Obwohl sein Leben viel zu früh ein tragisches Ende fand, ist seine Musik bis heute unvergessen!

Michael Jackson’s legendary July 16, 1988 concert at Wembley Stadium. The concert is not a compilation of performances, but rather one complete show, exactly as Michael performed it for Prince Charles, Princess Diana and the 72,000 fans who were in the audience for that night’s sold out show. The DVD was sourced from Michael Jackson’s personal VHS copy of the performance as shown on the JumboTrons during the concert. This footage was only recently unearthed and is the only known copy of the show to exist. The visuals have been restored and the audio quality enhanced so that fans can share in the excitement of that famous night.

Supertramp’s “Breakfast In America” was the biggest selling album in the world in 1979. It spawned several hit singles and went on to win two Grammy Awards and sell in excess of 20 million copies. Following the album’s release Supertramp embarked on a 10 month world tour which arrived in Paris at the end of November. This show from the Pavillon de Paris was both filmed and recorded. The audio went on to form the basis of the 1980 live album “Paris” but the film was never released. Now for the first time, transferred and restored to full HD from the original 16mm film, this footage is available to Supertramp’s legion of fans worldwide. The sound has been remixed by original sound engineer and co-producer Pete Henderson from the original multi-tracks and can now be heard in 5.1. In 1965, Glen Campbell was a session guitarist and singer from Arkansas who had played and sung on countless surf, hot rod, and sunshine pop records that labels and studios in California were issuing in the mid-'60s. After he filled in for Brian Wilson as a touring member of the Beach Boys that year, the Beach Boys' label, Capitol Records, offered Campbell a solo recording contract, which paid off two years later when Campbell's pop-folky country version of John Hartford's poetic and tumbling "Gentle on My Mind" hit the pop charts. Campbell's solo career was on the way, and the rest, as they say, is history. This collection features live performances from Campbell captured between 1972 and 2001, and includes versions of all of his classic hits, as well as bonus tracks of Campbell duets with Wayne Newton, Anne Murray, Seals & Croft, Helen Reddy, and others.
