April 2013 trat Def Leppard im Rahmen eines elf Auftritte umfassenden Gastspiels im „The Joint“ des Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas auf, um alle Lieder ihres 1987 veröffentlichten Erfolgsalbums Hysteria live vor Publikum darzubieten. Dabei wurde die Titelfolge genau eingehalten. Eine echte Vorgruppe gab es bei den Konzerten nicht, stattdessen trat die Band unter dem Namen “Ded Flatbird” selbst in ihrem Vorprogramm auf und spielte zahlreiche Lieder aus ihren frühen Jahren, vornehmlich von den Alben ONThrough the Night und High n’ Dry. Die Auftritte von “Ded Flatbird” vom 29. und 30. März 2013 wurden aufgenommen und waren auf einer zweiten CD enthalten. Außerdem wurde das gesamte Konzert für eine Videoveröffentlichung gefilmt.

Auch nach der Schulzeit fühlt sie sich von allen missverstanden – auch von ihren Eltern. Diese versuchen durch den Kirchenchor wieder ein wenig am Leben teilzunehmen. Gerade als Heras Rebellion immer destruktivere Ausmaße annimmt, zieht ein junger Priester in den Ort. Das Schicksal scheint sich zu wenden und Hera erkennt, dass sie nicht ihr ganzes Leben lang weglaufen kann.

Produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the special was an adaptation of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Broadway musical The Sound of Music, starring country singer Carrie Underwood as Maria von Trapp, performed and televised live from Grumman Studios in Bethpage, New York. Meron felt that if the telecast were successful, the concept could become "another kind of entertainment that can exist on TV."
