Regisseur Sergio kann sich nichts Besseres vorstellen als einen knallharten Western in einer gottverlassenen, chilenischen Salzwüste zu drehen. Nach seiner Ankunft wird er nämlich permanent mit einem gewissen Diego verwechselt, welcher ein ziemlich durchtriebener Gauner zu sein scheint. Als auch Gangsterboss Victor auf ihn aufmerksam wird und er von diesem verschleppt wird, soll er sich gar an dessen kriminellen Machenschaften beteiligen. Sergio möchte mit dem Drogengeschäft jedoch nicht am Hut haben und verweigert jegliche Mithilfe. Zwar bekommt er nun schmerzlich zu spüren, was es bedeutet, sich Victor zu wiedersetzen, dafür lernt der ängstliche Filmemacher aber auch, sich als echter Kerl zu behaupten.
