Tot plegat, amb l'objectiu de mostrar la grandesa i la precarietat d'un gest mig improvisat per part de Companys, corregit en clau sobiranista per Macià, i que va derivar en una baralla a crits entre els dos grans mites de la nostra història contemporània. Va ser un nyap, amb moments certament hilarants... però aquella audàcia va fer caure un rei i va fer possible l'autogovern català, per primer cop des de 1714.
