Elokuva ei kosiskele romanttisuudella tai hekumoi helpoilla valinnoilla. Alin ja Stéphanien rakkaudessa ei ole mitään särötöntä tai sievää, mutta kun se kerran rohkenee esiin, on se todempi ja voimallisempi kuin tuhat kiiltokuvaromanssia.
