Indagando su di lui ( o lei, dato che ha aspetto femminile ? ) scopre che frequenta un particolare locale denominato The Time Of Eve, al cui interno vige la speciale regola di abolire ogni distinzione tra umani e robot. Da ciò la scioccante constatazione che delle tre leggi di robotica conosciute a memoria nessuna riguarda, e quindi neppure comanda, possibili manifestazioni della personalità come ad esempio il mentire o l’essere gentili al di là della cortesia rituale.
