The Panel was an Australian television talk show broadcast by Network Ten and its affiliates; it was also simulcast on the Triple M radio network. The show was produced by Working Dog Productions and included several members of the former D-Generation and The Late Show casts. The show featured a panel of five people who discuss and joke about items in the news, current affairs, and pop culture. Episodes of The Panel screened at 9.30pm on Wednesday nights. Episodes were scheduled to run one hour but would often finish late, delaying the live news broadcast scheduled for 10.30pm immediately afterwards. The series premiered in 1998 and was very popular in its first few years. The show is currently considered to be on hiatus with the last regular episode airing in 2004. Between 2003 and 2007 the show also broadcast an annual Christmas special.

Todd McFarlane's Spawn is an animated television series which aired on HBO from 1997 through 1999. It is also released on DVD as a film series. It is based on the Spawn comic series from Image Comics, and was nominated for and won an Emmy in 1999 for Outstanding Animation Program. An unrelated series titled Spawn: The Animation is in production since 2009, with Keith David reprising his role as the titular character. Like the comic book, the series features graphic violence, sexual scenes, and extensive use of profanity. The Daily Show (op dit moment The Daily Show with Trevor Noah) is een satirisch nieuwsprogramma geproduceerd en uitgezonden door het Amerikaanse televisiestation Comedy Central. ‘The Daily Show’ is in Nederland en Vlaanderen te zien bij Comedy Central en online terug te kijken. Het programma is zeer kritisch op de serieuze nieuwszenders, die hun journalistieke verantwoordelijkheid niet zouden nemen. Het programma wordt steeds invloedrijker. In oktober 2010 was voor het eerst een zittende president te gast in het programma, namelijk Barack Obama. De invloed bleek ook toen in december 2010 een wet door de Republikeinen geblokkeerd dreigde te worden. Het ging om een wet die voorziet in financiële hulp aan de nabestaanden van de werkers die in de nasleep van 9/11 stierven aan ziektes als gevolg van hun werk op Ground Zero. The Daily Show besloot een complete aflevering aan het onderwerp te wijden. Toen de wet alsnog ingevoerd kon worden, roemde het Witte Huis Jon Stewart voor diens inzet. Het programma won vele prijzen, waaronder in 2006 de Emmy's voor Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series en Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Program. Time selecteerde het tv-programma in 2010 voor de lijst van 100 beste televisieprogramma's aller tijden.
