Hamile olduğunu öğrendikten sonra sakladığı bunalımı iyice dışarı vurmaya başlar ve hayatına renk katmak adına evdeki değişik nesneleri yutmak gibi acı dolu bir alışkanlık edinir. (Pika Sendromu olarak adlandırılan bu hastalık en çok çocuklarda ve hamilelerde görünür. Vücudundaki eksik bir mineralden kaynaklanabildiği gibi psikolojik sorunların da habercisi olabilir.) Hunter, gittikçe daha tehlikeli nesneleri yutmaya devam edecek ve işler çığırından çıkmaya başlayınca hem geçmişiyle hem de eşiyle yüzleşmek zorunda kalacaktır.
